Job Title: Ski and Snowboard Terrain Park Attendant

Job Summary:

The Ski and Snowboard Terrain Park Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment within the terrain park. This role involves the inspection, setup, and upkeep of park features, as well as guest interaction to ensure a positive and safe experience for all visitors. The attendant should be knowledgeable in snowboarding and skiing, able to assess safety concerns, and capable of assisting guests with information and safety tips.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Park Maintenance and Setup:
    • Prepare and maintain terrain park features, including jumps, rails, boxes, and other elements.
    • Inspect park features daily for safety and ensure they meet resort standards.
    • Perform snow shoveling, raking, and shaping to maintain park features throughout the day.
    • Collaborate with park managers and snow groomers to adjust park layout and make any necessary repairs.
  • Guest Interaction:
    • Provide guests with information about terrain park rules, safety protocols, and general tips for park usage.
    • Monitor guest behavior and assist in enforcing terrain park policies to ensure a safe environment.
    • Serve as a point of contact for questions and concerns regarding the terrain park.
    • Educate guests on safe riding and skiing practices in the terrain park.
  • Safety and Emergency Response:
    • Perform risk assessments and report any hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.
    • Respond quickly to accidents or incidents within the park, providing initial support and contacting ski patrol as needed.
    • Conduct frequent checks throughout the day to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
  • Operations and Team Collaboration:
    • Communicate with other resort departments, including ski patrol, snow grooming teams, and guest services, to ensure smooth operations.
    • Assist with park setup for special events, competitions, and other activities.
    • Support general mountain operations as needed, including lift maintenance, guest services, and snow clearing.

Qualifications:

  • Basic skiing or snowboarding skills; experience in terrain parks preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic terrain park setup and safety standards.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Work Conditions:

  • Physically demanding role with exposure to cold, snow, and wind.
  • Requires the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., helmets) while working within the terrain park.
  • May require working early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
